This past week, I participated in the professional development from the BCPVPA around the revised Leadership Standards. These standards were developed around 2007 to create a document for administrators to use as a way of completing a self-assessment and grow and learn, through collaboration with others around different domains/strands under the Leadership Standards. They are not for evaluation, but for growth. To me, they are an example of where I would like our teacher evaluations should be: self-assessment, support and guidance, coaching, practice with purpose, improvement for all learners.
In the next while, I will be writing about my own journey with the Leadership Standards, under the guise of my PGP (professional growth plan). I have started the document and will post out, as I go, my progress. I am a firm believer that you cannot grow and learn in isolation. Feedback is always welcome.
